Tamko Gutter Replacement: The Miami Owner’s Guide

If you have a Tamko gutter system that’s pulling away from the fascia, leaking at the seams, or sagging between hangers, we stock Tamko-compatible gutter replacement components and install them throughout Miami. Most residential gutter replacement jobs in Miami run $850 to $2,400 installed, depending on linear footage, height, and whether the fascia board behind the gutter needs repair. The usual discovery moment comes during one of our afternoon downpours, when water sheets over the gutter edge instead of flowing to the downspout, or when you spot a section dangling after a wind event off Biscayne Bay.

We’re an independent Miami roofing and gutter contractor, not affiliated with Tamko. That matters because it means we’ll tell you honestly when the gutter itself is fine and the real problem is the hanger spacing, the slope, or the fascia underneath. That’s the kind of straight answer that has kept our repair trucks busy from Kendall to Miami Shores.

Which Tamko Models This Applies To

Tamko’s gutter line is narrower than their shingle catalog, but there are still compatibility decisions that trip people up. The most common Tamko gutter profiles we replace in Miami are their 5-inch K-style aluminum gutters and their 6-inch half-round copper and aluminum lines used on higher-end homes in Coconut Grove and Coral Gables. The 5-inch K-style is the workhorse: it matches standard 2×3-inch downspouts and most off-the-shelf hangers. The 6-inch half-round requires Tamko-specific hanger brackets and a 3×4-inch downspout, and mixing those with generic big-box parts is the fastest way to get a leak at the outlet.

The compatibility gotcha we see most often: Tamko’s K-style gutter uses a slightly deeper profile than the generic 5-inch K-style sold at home centers, so a generic end cap or miter will not seat cleanly. If you’re doing a section repair rather than a full replacement, measure the depth of the gutter channel before you buy parts. We stock OEM-spec Tamko-compatible replacements and quality aftermarket equivalents on our trucks, and we’ll tell you which one makes sense for your job. For copper half-round, we always recommend OEM-spec material; aftermarket copper varies too much in wall thickness to trust near salt air. Dylan Pace has watched cheap copper green and pit within three years along Brickell, where the salt spray and humidity demand a heavier gauge than anything sold at a discount.

Signs Your Tamko Gutter Replacement Is Failing

  • Gutter pulling away from the fascia. The hangers are either spaced too far apart or the screws have stripped out of rotted wood. In Miami, the wood usually rots first, not the hanger.
  • Water dripping from the seams or end caps. The sealant has dried and cracked from UV exposure and heat cycling. Tamko’s factory sealant fares better than most, but Miami summers will age any sealant faster than the manufacturer’s warranty assumes.
  • Sagging pools of standing water. The gutter has lost its slope, usually because a hanger failed or the fascia board has softened. Standing water in Miami is a mosquito nursery within days.
  • Rust streaks or pinholes on the underside. This is almost always a galvanized steel gutter, not aluminum. Tamko’s steel gutters were more common on older Miami homes, and once pinholes start, patching buys you months, not years.
  • Water overflowing in heavy rain, even when the gutter is clean. The gutter is undersized for the roof area. Miami’s rain comes in bursts that overwhelm 5-inch gutters on larger roof planes, and the fix is often a 6-inch upgrade rather than another 5-inch section.

Replacement Cost & What’s Included

Here’s the honest math for Miami. For a standard single-story home with about 120 to 160 linear feet of gutter, expect:

  • 5-inch K-style aluminum replacement: $850 to $1,600 installed
  • 6-inch half-round aluminum replacement: $1,400 to $2,400 installed
  • Section repair (10 to 20 feet): $180 to $400 installed
  • Fascia board repair or replacement (per 8-foot section): $60 to $140 additional
  • Downspout replacement (each): $90 to $180 installed

Every Crestview Roofing Co Miami quote includes a written price before any work starts, the parts, the labor, the fasteners, and cleanup. If the fascia is soft or rotted behind the gutter, we’ll show you a photo and add the board work to the written scope before we touch it. No allowances, no “we’ll see what we find” billing. The number on the proposal is the number on the invoice. And every gutter replacement we install is covered by our 365-Day Done Right Promise, in writing, at no extra cost.

DIY or Call Us?

You can safely check a few things yourself: look for standing water after a rain, run a hose along the roofline to watch how water enters and exits the gutter, and eyeball the hanger spacing from the ground. That’s useful information for any contractor you call. What we’d stop you from doing is getting on a ladder with a drill and trying to re-hang a section that’s pulling away. Gutters are full of sharp edges, the ladder is often on uneven ground or pavers, and the fascia you’re screwing into may be too rotted to hold a screw anyway. We’ve been called after enough ladder slips in Coral Way to prefer you keep both feet on the ground. Let us climb, measure, and write the price. If it turns out the gutter just needs a re-slope and new hangers, that’s a smaller bill than a full replacement, and we’ll tell you that before any work is scheduled. Call (850) 318-3769 and we’ll put a name, a time, and a written price in front of you.
