Why Miami Homeowners Choose CertainTeed Roofing
We provide Certainteed in Miami with independent roofing repair and service across the city, from leak diagnosis on barrel tile profiles to full Landmark Pro tear-offs in Coral Gables and Brickell. We’re not a CertainTeed-authorized dealer, and we’ll be upfront about that from the first call. What we are is a crew that has torn apart, repaired, and reinstalled CertainTeed’s full residential lineup in Miami’s subtropical humidity and hurricane-season wind for over a decade. We know which shingle types hold up to wind-driven rain and which underlayment details fail first on tile profiles. That’s the difference between a roofer who says “Sure, we do CertainTeed” and one who can tell you why your Xponent shingles are cracking on the south slope before he even climbs the ladder.
Call us at (850) 318-3769. We’ll give you a straight answer and a written price before anything gets touched.
Why Trust Crestview Roofing Co Miami for Your CertainTeed Roofing?
CertainTeed makes a lot of different roofing products. A Landmark Pro architectural shingle does not fail the same way a Patriot 100 flat membrane fails, and the repair is not the same either. Our technicians know the difference because they have been pulling these materials apart for years. Dylan Pace, our owner, started roofing fundamentals in Los Angeles before spending nearly two decades working his way from apprentice to crew lead on both flat commercial builds and steep residential re-roofs. In Miami Beach Certainteed service areas and throughout the city, that experience gets pressure-tested every afternoon thunderstorm season. He and the team have worked jobs along the Brickell corridor where salt air and hurricane-season heat demand a different material spec than anything he saw back in Southern California.
When we show up to a CertainTeed roof, we know what we are looking at. We can identify a failed adhesive strip on a Landmark Pro before it becomes a wind-lift call. We know what granule loss along the nailing strip on a south-facing Xponent roof means. And we will never sell you a repair that does not address the actual failure mode. We use CertainTeed-branded shingles and accessories whenever a homeowner’s warranty is still active, because keeping that warranty intact matters. But we will also tell you when an aftermarket underlayment or flashing detail will outperform OEM in Miami’s rain. Honest repair-or-replace talk, every time, in writing.

Common CertainTeed Roofing Problems We Fix in Miami
- Adhesive strip separation on Landmark Pro shingles. This is the most common CertainTeed issue we see in Miami. The adhesive strip that bonds each shingle to the one below it fails after sustained high-humidity cycles. The shingle corners lift, wind gets underneath, and you get nail pops and blow-offs. We see it most often on roofs between 8 and 14 years old in neighborhoods like Coral Gables and Coconut Grove where original installs used the minimum nail count.
- Cracking and granule loss along the nailing strip of Xponent shingles. Xponent is a lighter, wider shingle, and on south-facing Miami roof planes the constant sun exposure breaks down the asphalt along the nailing strip faster than anywhere else on the shingle. The granules go first, then the mat dries and cracks. Homeowners notice it as dark lines or a “worn stripe” pattern across the roof. Repairs here are almost always localized, not full-roof.
- Improperly lapped underlayment at valley transitions on Carriage House installs. Carriage House is a luxury shingle built to mimic cedar shake, and the valley transitions are where we find the most leaks. If the underlayment was lapped wrong at install, water concentrates at the valley during Miami downpours and finds its way under the shingles. The shingles look fine from the ground. The leak is in the details underneath. We fix the underlayment, re-lap it correctly, and put the shingles back.
- Blistering and alligatoring on Patriot 100 flat roof membranes. Patriot 100 is CertainTeed’s low-slope / flat roofing line, and flat roof membranes in Miami take a beating from ponding water and UV. Where water sits for more than 48 hours, the membrane blisters and develops the cracked, alligator-skin look. Once that happens, patching buys you time, but the membrane has lost its life. We will tell you honestly when it is patchable and when a new membrane is the only right move.
- Failed tile fastening and underlayment on older CertainTeed tile profiles. Many Miami homes, especially in the 1920s Mediterranean Revival and Art Deco stock, have original tile roofs that were installed before Miami-Dade HVHZ code tightened. The tiles often look intact, but the underlayment underneath has deteriorated and the fastening no longer meets wind uplift requirements. We handle tile underlayment replacement and re-fastening to bring these roofs up to what inspectors and insurance carriers now require.
CertainTeed Parts & Our Repair-vs-Replace Approach
We use CertainTeed-branded shingles and accessories whenever your warranty is still active. That is non-negotiable for warranty-safe service. But we are also honest about when a quality aftermarket underlayment or flashing will perform as well or better in Miami’s rain. We do not upcharge for OEM when a more durable alternative exists. The point is what protects your roof, not what pads the invoice.
We keep common CertainTeed parts on our trucks: Landmark Pro shingles in the most common Miami colorways, Xponent replacement shingles, flashing materials, and underlayment that meets Miami-Dade NOA requirements. For less common certainteed products, we can usually source parts same-week. The repair-versus-replace decision is straightforward. If the roof is over 15 years old and shows multiple failure modes, a full replacement makes more sense than piecemeal patching. CertainTeed Roofing in North Miami, FL and throughout the region faces similar issues: warranty terms and local wind uplift codes rarely align with patching an aging roof. If the roof is younger and the failure is isolated, we repair it properly and warranty the work. Call us at (850) 318-3769 and we will tell you which path your roof needs.
Our CertainTeed Service Process – Step by Step
- 1
Diagnosis. We inspect the roof and identify the specific CertainTeed failure mode. Not a generic “your roof is old.” We tell you what failed and why, in plain English.
- 2
Repair or install plan. We write out exactly what materials we will use, whether CertainTeed OEM or a specified alternative, and the full price. The number on the page is the number on the invoice. No allowances, no change orders later.
- 3
Repair or installation. Our crew does the work to the manufacturer’s spec. For CertainTeed shingles in Miami’s high-wind zones, that means the right nail count and a proper secondary water barrier where code requires it.
- 4
Testing. After the repair or install, we water-test the repair area and check for wind-lift. On tile and flat roof work, we verify drainage and seam integrity before we call the job done.
- 5
Warranty in writing. Every repair is covered by our 365-Day Done Right Promise. If the repair fails within a year, we come back and correct it at no charge. Free second visit, no negotiation. You get the guarantee in writing before you pay anything.

AfterCertainTeed Products We Service & Install in Miami
Our crews handle the CertainTeed residential lineup most common in Miami: Landmark Pro architectural shingles, Xponent asphalt shingles, Carriage House luxury shingles, and Patriot 100 flat roofing. We also service certainteed tile profiles and the accessories that go with them: underlayment, ridge caps, valley metal, and flashing. We stock the most common colorways for Landmark Pro and Xponent locally so repair turnaround does not stall while parts ship. For specialty CertainTeed products, we source quickly through our supplier network and give you a firm date before work starts.
We Also Service These Brands
CertainTeed is a solid system, but it is not the only one we work with. We install and repair GAF and Owens Corning roofing systems too, which keeps our recommendations straight. When we tell you CertainTeed is the right material for your Miami home, it is because it is the right material, not because it is the only one we know.
FAQs – CertainTeed Roofing Service in Miami
The short answer: probably not under the manufacturer’s warranty, because certainteed’s warranty covers manufacturing defects, not installation-related adhesive failure. Corner lifting on Landmark Pro is almost always either adhesive strip failure from humidity cycling or insufficient nailing at the original install. Both are installation or environmental issues, not defects, so the warranty typically will not pay out. That said, our Roof Repair services are often local and far cheaper than a full roof. Call us at (850) 318-3769 and we will inspect it and give you a written price before any work starts.
No. If your CertainTeed wind warranty is still active, replacing damaged Xponent shingles with anything other than matching CertainTeed Xponent shingles will void the remaining warranty on the affected roof plane. We only use mismatched or aftermarket shingles on roofs where the warranty has already expired and the homeowner prefers a lower-cost fix. On an active-warranty roof, we match the model and color exactly. Call (850) 318-3769 for an exact quote on Xponent repairs and we will tell you whether your warranty is still in force.
Because the tiles are not the waterproof layer. The underlayment underneath is what keeps water out. On older Miami tile roofs, the underlayment at valley transitions was often lapped incorrectly at install or has simply deteriorated from years of heat and humidity. The tiles look fine from the ground, but water is getting through underneath. This is one of the most common CertainTeed tile leaks we fix in Miami, and it requires lifting the tiles at the valley, replacing the underlayment correctly, and re-bedding the tiles. We do tile underlayment replacement regularly. Call us at (850) 318-3769 for an inspection.
CertainTeed’s standard spec calls for four nails per shingle, but in Miami-Dade’s High Velocity Hurricane Zone we routinely use six nails per shingle on windward slopes. The extra fastening is cheap insurance against the lift forces a Category 3 or 4 storm puts on a roof. Last month our tech inspected a 12-year-old Landmark Pro roof in Coral Gables where two shingles had blown off during an afternoon thunderstorm. The adhesive strip had failed from prolonged dew-point cycling, and the nail heads were pulling through. We replaced the damaged shingles and added six nails per shingle on the windward slope, matching the original driftwood color. No further lifts after the next major squall.
Sometimes. If the existing Patriot 100 membrane is still bonded and shows no blistering or alligatoring, and local code allows a re-cover, we can install over it. But Miami-Dade code limits re-covers, and if the existing membrane has ponding water damage or the seams are failing, a tear-off is required. We will tell you which applies to your roof after an inspection. Call (850) 318-3769 and we will give you a straight answer and a written price for either path.
Standard CertainTeed leak repairs in Miami run $350 to $900 depending on what failed. Tile underlayment replacement at valleys runs $1,200 to $2,800. Shingle replacement runs $8 to $14 per square foot for a full CertainTeed Landmark Pro tear-off and install, with Xponent landing a bit lower and Carriage House higher. Flat roof Patriot 100 replacement runs $10 to $16 per square foot depending on substrate condition. Those are honest ranges for Miami’s market, but every roof is different. Call us at (850) 318-3769 for a free estimate and a written price before any work starts.
